Rosin resin is, translucent, brittle, friable resin used for varnish and in manufacturing many products. It becomes sticky when warm and has a faint pinelike odour. Gum rosin consists of the residue obtained upon distillation of the oleoresin (a natural fluid) from pine trees (the volatile component is spirit of turpentine); wood rosin, obtained by solvent extraction of the stumps, is usually of a darker colour.
Properties of rosin resin:
Rosin resin is famous gum which is obtained from pine trees. After the distillation of gum, oil is separated and rosin is obtained in dry form Its color is chocolate brown and its present in the form of shiny pieces.

Rosin Resin uses:
It is used in hot melt and pressure sensitive adhesives, varnishes, solid ring compound, insulating compound, soap making, detergent making, paper sizing and polyesters, printing inks and phenyl making.
