Paint dryers are special materials made of lead or zirconium, calcium and cobalt compounds and are very important to accelerate the drying of oil-based paints in general and especially paints made of long-chain alkyd resin. Dryer compounds are important in drying the paint layer in terms of intermediate, surface or lower drying.
Dryers are the material that stimulates or accelerates the hardening or curing process of film components that contain oily components that can be oxidized or dried in the paint. They also make the paint transferable to the film, and do not dissolve again in the solvent. Dryers are classified according to the material from which the dryer is usually made, heavy metal salts such as calcium, cobalt, zirconium, manganese and lead, and therefore each type of dryer has its own importance in use and speed of drying.
The most famous types of dryers are calcium, cobalt and zirconium compounds, as each of them has a different percentage placed in the paint. The site contain many formulas for making glossy and matte oil paints, all of which contain special paint dryers.
